Hey there tumblr friends!

Once again, I went MIA… I apologize profusely! We had our family Christmas this weekend so I was a busy wrapping and drinking and wrapping and drinking…you get the jist. But, I haven’t forgotten about my lovely tumblr followers.

Alright, so although my holiday is all done and over with, a lot of you still have your holidays to celebrate! Are you freaking out yet about what you’re going to wear to all of the family/non-family parties this weekend? I was and now i’m starting to freak out about New Years (SERIOUSLY!?! What do I WEARRR? It’s that one night where things are ending and new things are beginning and come on, don’t you want to look good?) Anyways, I digress…

Check out this GORGEOUS top from Topshop…seriously, I’m in love. The detailing on it is just gorgeous. It’s still appropriate for going to your significant others family party yet cute enough to show off to your friends. I’d throw a blazer over it, some skinny jeans on, some boots and bam…there is your outfit.

Pair it with this adorable bow earrings from Modcloth and you are SET TO GO.

Alright, so I slacked over the weekend. Forgive me. But alas, I am back…and I start today off with the 12 days of Sparkly/Fun/Beautiful/Comfortable/Crazy outfits of Chrismas/New Years Eve/That holiday party you really don’t want to go to but have to.

OUR FIRST OUTFIT: Keep your eyes up here.

Here’s the deal with this dress - It’s sexy without trying too hard. The long sleeves and flirty hemline on the dress keep it from showing too much skin while the mesh v-detailing on the neckline keeps things mysterious. Just the way I like it. Oh, did I mention the dress has a deep v-neck back? OOO yes. This dress is screaming NEW YEARS EVE PARTY! WEAR ME THERE!!! Make everyone jealous! Last, but NOT least - the shoes: RED SHOES. Sure, you could wear black shoes to tie the outfit in but come on…shoes are one of the most important parts of an outfit. People say not to wear tights with open toed shoes but with these red ones, I think you can get away with it. The splash of color is just what this dress needs. Alright here is my newest obsession - Tom Binns’ necklaces. Why do I love them? Well…they are colorful, shiny, bright, and sparkly. There you have it. Here’s the only problem > they can cost anywhere from $400 to around $2500. Unless I decide to sell most of my internal organs and/or sell most of my earthly possessions (still probably wouldn’t be enough), I’m S.O.L!

Thankfully, some crafty people (not me) came up with the idea of recreating the necklaces and making them yourself! Go out and buy yourself a cheap necklace from Claire’s/Forever 21/wherever your heart desires, pick up some bottles of nail polish in colors you want, paint the necklace with the nail polish, and BAM you have a faux Tom Binns’ necklace. I recommend the bright neon colors seen in these pictures as they seem to show up the best and pop the most.

Neon colors? Sparkles? Making it myself? Not having to sell my liver?

1. Red, the hottest color ever.

OK let’s talk about this dress.

First off, alright, I get it…the model looks like she’s 6’2 and well let’s face it…she probably is. Therefore, this dress looks killer on her because of her height and skinniness.

But screw it! I love it - the color of the dress is gorgeous. It’s the perfect fall/winter color…olive, but dark enough that it won’t wash you out. The slit is super sexy and the belt around the waist dresses it down a bit for that casual yet somewhat dressy event you have to go to.

The ruching on the top of the dress separates the top from the bottom nicely in terms of texture and fabrics. I’m liking the bright yellow clutch up against the dress as well - nicely done burberryftw!

Yep. I’d wear that (with some killer shoes I might add ;) )
